Pakistan’s first Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4!

It had been quite a while since the last hyper car entered Pakistani territory. This year started out with a bang for the automotive enthusiasts in Pakistan in the first week of February, the Pasban Group of Faisalabadimported one of the most advanced and fastest hyper cars in the international automotive industry today. TheLamborghini Aventador LP700-4, Lamborghini’s lastest flagship model in over a decade.

There were many rumours at first, some thought it cannot be possible. The duty and taxes of the customs department will cost way too much and the most common sentence one would say, ‘where will it be driven?’. Well, it’s officially here and it’s on the roads.
This behemoth of car is the fastest Lamborghini has ever made. The monocoque comprises almost completely out of carbon fibre which makes it both lightweight and very tough at the same time. It is powered by a hand-built 6.5L V12 engine which is paired to a single-clutch 7-speed semi-automatic gearbox. The numbers are surreal for a naturally aspirated hypercar, it chucks out 700 horsepower and 510-Ibft of torque. 0-60MPH time is a cool 2.9 seconds, quarter mile time is 10.3 seconds at 135MPH and top speed is 217MPH (350km/h).

Some other features of this behemoth include, both front and rear mono tube dampers with push-rod suspension. HUGE, 15.7” rotors in the front and 14.9” rotors in the rear which makes this 1500 KG bull come to a 60-0 MPH stop within 100 feet. The drive train is controlled by an all-electronic all-wheel drive system developed and supplied by a Swedish company known as Haldex Traction.
The owner, who also owns Pakistan’s only Ferrari F430 and a numerous collection of other not-so-average vehicles is a car enthusiast with a very good taste in cars as you see for yourself.

The arrival of previous exotics such as the Gallardo spyderFerrari 599’sAudi R8’sMaserati’s and now theAventador in Pakistan have certainly motivated a lot of people into the exotic car scene here.
More imports of exotics in Pakistan can certainly set a milestone for the country’s automotive field in the years to come. Which can then set different types of communities, clubs, automotive events etc. Who knows, maybe even an international raceway perhaps? Guess, we’ll have to wait and see.

Most Popular Imported Japanese Cars in Pakistan

Japanese used vehicle exporting is a grey market international trade involving the export of used cars and other vehicles from Japan to Pakistan and other world. Despite the high cost of transport, the sale of used cars and other vehicles to Pakistan is still profitable due to the relatively low cost and good condition of the cars being purchased.  In the other hand in the increasing of fuel prices the low prices 660cc imported cars demand has also been increased.  The most popular imported Japanese cars include 660cc cars in Pakistan are given below.

Suzuki Alto :

5 Most Popular Imported Cars in Pakistan

In fiscal year 2011-2012, used cars worth 22.5 billion Rupees were imported in Pakistan. Pakistan’s local auto industry received a severe setback with the influx of imported cars, as they were better in all aspects. Since the escalation of imported cars from the fiscal year 2011-2012, there are some cars which have become immensely prevalent. Here’s a list of top five most imported cars in Pakistan:

660cc – Daihatsu Mira and Suzuki Alto

DSC01911 1343407857_420119654_3-Suzuki-Alto-2007-Fresh-import-Islamabad

Mira car and Alto are some best options in 660cc horse power. The price of both these cars kept on increasing since the influx of imported cars. And to be very practical, these cars are better than local cars in same budget. Other 660cc cars like Daihatsu move, Suzuki Cervo and Nissan Moco have also gained buyer’s attention to some extent but Mira and Alto were the best selling cars in this category probably due to more resale and availability of spare parts.

1000cc – Toyota Vitz and Passo

Although, Vitz was on importer’s wish list since 2005 and was probably one of the first Japanese cars that became popular in the local market along with Toyota Platz and Belta. Toyota Passo became a great counter part of Toyota Vitz with much improved fuel economy. But its chubby look did not let Vitz’s sale to reduce to a significant extent although it was much cheaper than Vitz.

1500cc -Toyota Prius

Toyota-Prius_Plug-in_Hybrid_2013_1024x768_wallpaper_01
Toyota Prius has seriously made breakthroughs in local market by its leading edge shape, accessories, and most importantly its hybrid specifications. Back in 2012 and 2013, Toyota Axio was available in same price tag but without hybrid specifications. Toyota Axio lost its market after government banned the influx of cars older than 3 years. As 3 years old Toyota Axio was way more expensive than Toyota Prius. Toyota Prius also gained sales potential due to slashed off import duties for hybrid cars.

Honda S660 Pictures Leaked Out

It is not the sports car Pakistan deserves but it is the sports car we need right now. The Honda S660 is a small Kei sports car, first shown by Honda over two years ago, is now ready to hit the showroom floors of Japan only but worry not brethren in Pakistan. Our car importers will soon get atleast a couple in Pakistan pretty soon.

While some say that this is the successor vehicle to the Honda Beat but Honda chose not to revive the old name and stuck with the S660 name for this car.
This particular S660 was spotted by a site called ‘Minkara’ which seems to show the production variant of the S660. And looking at the pictures, we can see that Honda remained with the concept vehicle shown a couple of years ago except when it comes to the interior. All the futuristic gadgetry has been let go off, the digital speedometer and center console has been removed while the good thing is that, it is available with a six-speed transmission and lesser drivers can also get it with a CVT transmission.
The engine, as we know by the name, is a 660cc three-cylinder engine producing 64 HP and 77 lbs. ft. of Torque and may be, a more powerful, turbo engine is also heard off and then a 1,000cc different engine with more power would be introduced for the global markets but, Honda has yet to confirm anything officially on both of those engines.
But given the small engine will mean good mileage and the 660cc displacement would mean less duty paid on importing, thus, this can be the right daily driver sports you can have because it is only 11 feet long and less than 5 feet in width while the weight, though that figure is not official, but it is expected to be about 1,830 lbs. making it the sports car Pakistan needs right now.

Hold on to your butts: These are the 20 fastest

cars in the world

“How fast can it go?”

There are many ways to measure automotive excellence, but top speed is the one everybody secretly cares about the most. Aldous Huxley was right about speed being the only truly modern sensation. He left out the part about how much fun it is. These 20 cars are more than just fun, though, they’re the fastest production cars in the world. The emphasis here is on “production;” racers and one-off custom jobs need not apply. We also tried to limit the selections to cars whose claimed top speeds have been generally recognized as legitimate by the automotive media and sanctioning groups.
There are also some cars on the horizon that appear ready to knock some names off this list. SSC still hopes to reclaim the title of world’s fastest car with its 1,350-horsepower Tuatara, and Koenigsegg claims a top speed of more than 273 miles per hour for its One:1. For now, though, these are the fastest cars that can legally sport a license plate.

The combination of a Lotus Elise chassis and 1,244-hp 7.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 gives us the fastest production car in the world. Depending on your definition of “fastest” and “production car,” that is.
Hennessey recorded a 270.4-mph run at the Kennedy Space Center last year, but only in one direction. To be considered legitimate, record attempts usually require one run in each direction. An average is then taken to account for wind conditions.
Because of its hand-built nature, there’s also some debate about whether the Venom GT qualifies as a production car. While it can claim the highest recorded speed, Hennessey’s monster isn’t recognized as the world’s fastest car by the Guinness Book of World Records.

Top 10 Most Memorable Hollywood Cars

There are thousands of vehicles that were used in movies, but only a few that were made famous by Hollywood. Here, I’ve siffed out 10 of the best and most memorable Hollywood cars which are ranked according to popularity, speed, general characteristics and overall authenticity of where these cars would fall under or over each other. I have ranked them in matters of which stand out above the rest from the most common to the most sought after as well as the more speedier ones. Check them out! Be sure to make your own suggestions in the comments section below.

10. DeLorean DMC -12 (Back To the Future)

Well, if you’ve noticed 80’s movies while growing up, then in the movie “back to the future” You would have seen a Ferrari looking car with a whole lot of crazy lights covering every inch of it. That was actually a DeLorean DMC – 12 back then which has been one of the most anticipated cars since the 80’s since now in this era, we have a few dudes now and then making a few DMC replica’s of their own which meant the car no matter how old it is right now, still means something in modern day by several car enthusiasts who don’t mind spending a few thousands more to replicate this time machine in our ever-changing times. Some have went above and beyond In making their very own time machine style DMC DeLorean’s over the years and have even had the honor of driving one at high speeds on the local streets to show off. Before this movie was made, showcasing this car and bringing life to it in another futuristic manner, the DMC DeLorean has been rather not so famous and we can safely say that its gained its shining armor of recognition to the world, after Hollywood made it famous.

9. VW Beetle – 60’s Model (Herbie)

Dodge Viper RT 10 Roadster (Viper TV series)

Honda Civic Type R Prototype: It's Almost Here!

Although we’d been hearing rumors for weeks that there would be a “surprise” unveil of the Honda Civic Type R at the Paris auto show, we tried to act shocked when it actually happened. The company hasn’t released any technical details, but this styling concept (officially it’s the Civic Type R Prototype) clearly shows how the production model will look when it’s unveiled next year. And, yes, this is indeed the first Honda-badged Type R that will be sold in the United States.
While it will almost certainly be the most aesthetically muscular version of the tenth-gen Civic, the Type R is less angry-looking than the current Euro-spec R, with Honda insiders admitting that car’s stormtrooper-esque styling has been too aggressive for many. Don’t worry, it still looks plenty punchy, especially at the back where twin rear wings look set to engender at least one ALL THE SPOILERZ meme. There’s also a carbon-fiber front spoiler with red highlights, carbon-fiber side skirts, and a sizable diffuser at the back above the trio of center-exit exhaust pipes. Up front, a restyled front fascia has additional air intakes with diamond-pattern mesh inserts, a functional hood scoop, and smoked lenses. Gloss-black 20-inch alloys fill the wheel wells and also get red accents.
The official line on the car’s mechanical layout is that there is no official line on the car’s mechanical layout. That’s no great problem, as we already know from our drive in the current-generation Euro Type R that the new car will feature an evolved version of the same Ohio-built turbocharged VTEC four-banger, presumably with a power boost beyond the existing 306 horsepower.
That’s the sort of power that most manufacturers offer in conjunction with all-wheel drive, but Honda has said it regards the weight penalty of such a system as being unacceptable. So output will be sent to the front wheels only—and occasionally vaporized into the atmosphere—likely via a six-speed manual gearbox.
Honda recently lost the current Type R’s front-wheel-drive lap record at the Nürburgring Nordschleife—yes, that’s really a thing—to the Volkswagen GTI Clubsport S, so it’s a safe bet that the new R will be aiming to win that one back.

2017 Volvo XC90

Overview: After extended product doldrums due to changing overlords, Volvo has emerged as strong as ever with the launch of the XC90 SUV for 2016, the impressive start of an all-new lineup developed under Chinese owner Geely. With an upright and bold countenance, the XC90 exudes confidence, and its nearly Range Rover–rivaling presence, along with a full complement of features and technology, comfortably earns its way further upmarket than previous XC90s. Lest you think it’s getting by on looks alone, the Volvo manages to pack more third-row and cargo space—with hooks and tie-downs aplenty—in a footprint similar to peers such as the Audi Q7the Land Rover Range Rover Sport, and the BMW X5. Unlike its competitors, however, the Volvo is powered solely by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that comes in three strengths: the turbocharged 250-hp T5, the turbo- and supercharged 316-hp T6, and the 400-hp electric-motor-assisted T8 plug-in hybrid. Entry-level T5 models are five-seat only and come with front- or all-wheel drive, while the T6 and T8 add a third row—except for the pinnacle T8 Excellence model, which is a four-seater—and standard all-wheel drive.
What’s New: We’ve said before that the XC90’s exquisite interior is worthy of a vehicle costing twice as much, and for 2017, Volvo concurs, launching the range-topping $105,895 Excellence, an ultra-luxurious four-seat version of the plug-in T8 that more than doubles the XC90’s $46,745 starting price. Also available this year is an output upgrade for the T8 hybrid from Volvo’s in-house tuning arm, Polestar, which adds 21 horsepower and 30 lb-ft of torque. And the Sensus infotainment system now includes additional built-in app integration, the most noteworthy of which is the streaming-music service Spotify. This means songs no longer have to be funneled through a user’s smartphone, and full control is possible through the XC90’s 9.0-inch touchscreen (when using Spotify via Apple CarPlay, the app’s functionality is significantly reduced).
